SRIJAYANTHI:- (Krishna Jayanthi)

It is a known festival to everyone of us, it falls in the month of Aavani(Tamil month). On that day, in every house, different types of Bakshanamms(sweets & Savouries) will be made and it will be kept before Lord Krishna and Nevedhyam is done to him and then we people wll take it as his prasadhams.


But in Sri Parthasarathy Swamy temple, there is a Krishnar who will be near the Moolavar Thiruvadi in the sanadhi will be dressed with ornaments made of diamond and gold and will be carried by the Archakas(Priests) to the front Mandapam, there a Ungal(swing) made of silver will be placed, there lord Krishna will be placed(make him to sleep in the Adhisesha padikai-Bed). There comes Deepa Harathi for Lord Krishna in the ungal. After that the ornaments which are wored by Lord krishna is removed and made ready for Thirumanjanam. The Thirumanjanam starts with the kattiyam, then Sangu Pal(milk in silver conch), Vennai(butter), Chukkuvellam(chukku and jaggery) are offered to the lord Krishna. After that Thirumanjanam goes on. After the thirumanjanam gets over, Lord Krishna is again dressed with ornaments and placed in the Mansam(Mandapam) and then Thiruvaradhanam is made for him, then Naivedhyam done for him, then Theertha, Prasadha vinyogam for all the devotees.



Then the next day early morning, Lord Krishna dressed with ornaments and placed in a small sesha vahanam and then comes through the four madaveethis, when he goes to the third madaveethi, there is a small lane where lots of cows are tied, he goes there and sees all the cows and then accepts the thamboolam which is offered to him by the people there, and then comes back to the temple.





Uriyadi utsavam:-

In the evening both Lord Parthasarathy and Lord krishna comes in a Punnamarai vahanam and stands in front of Vahana mandapam. There comes the people who are going to stike the uri, malai mariyadhai from perumal from him. Then people starts the game, the lord will stand there itself till the last person who successfully strikes the Uri and gets the Money kept inside in it. (the Uriyadi is placed in the front Naalukal mandapam) Then after that the perumal comes through the four madaveethis and goes inside the temple.
