PEYALWAR MANGALAASANAM:- >

This is a grand occassion, which comes mostly in the month of Sseptember or October. On this day Mylapore Sri Adhikesavar temple Peyalwar comes here to Triplicane for Mangalasaasanam of Sri Parthasarathy Perumal. It comes on an Ekadasi day of either of the two months mentioned above, withour any monthly thirunakshatram of any alwars. It was followed in olden days say 5o years ago, but it was stopped for some reasons. But Lord Parthasarathy has given us the oppurtunity for today's generation to have this beautifull occasion which no one can forget.
The Program is as follows:->
First Mangalasaasanam is done for Peyalwar in Sri Adhikesava perumal koil at 2pm on that day. Then he is placed in a Muthu Palakku(Pearl palaquin), and starts his journey to triplicane, on the way, he accepts Mandapapadi in his Avatharasthala there at Mylapore, after that he continues his journey, then at 4pm attains the Ellai(Triplicane starting place), waits for Sri Parthasarathy's Mariyadhai or Aakvanam(Invitation with honour). Then after the alwar is honoured with perumal's mariyadhai, the Sri Sadagopan and Senaimudhalyar goes back to temple. Goshti thodakam(Moondram Thiruandhadhi) then moves to the temple by passing through Peyalwar koil Street, attains the vahana mandapam of Sri Parthasarathy perumal.
Then starts from there in a Mangalaasaasana Kaipalagai( Mangalaasaasana Thotti),
comes to the temple and stands in front of Sri Parthasarathy perumal facing the perumal, for him Malai, Thagadi, Srisadagopam comes as Perumal's mariyadhai, then there comes Aarathi, during this Aarathi showed to Peyalwar, The adhyapakas and other Thengalai Srivaishnavas start chanting "Vandhudhaitha Vennthiraigal.........." (Peyalwar's Pasuram about Thiruvallikeni), then "Vilperu Vilavum........." (Thirumangai alwar's pasuram about Sri Parthasarathy Perumal), like this the alwar gos to all the other sannadhis like Thayar, Varadharajar, Thelliyasingar, Aandal, in each n every sannadhi, their Thirumangai alwar's pasuram is sung. Then he reaches the Main mandapam where Sri Parthasarathy perumal is ready for purapadu in a big Kedayam.
There alwar is placed in another Kedayam which is kept for him for the Veedhi purapadu, then alankaram with Pushpa malaigal goes on.
Then after the darshan for Ubayakaras, both Sri Parthasarathy swamy and Peyalwar goes out for Thriuveedhi purapadu at 7pm, after going to the Four madaveedhis, comes back to temple, Thiruvandhikapu for both of them them comes to the same madapam where both strated for purapadu. Their Nevadhyam for both of them and then after all the devotees have darshan of this precious sevai of both Sri Parthasarathy paerumal and Mylai Peyalwar, Peyalwar comes down and stands in front of Sri Parthasarath swamy at the mandapam, facing him.
He stands like that for Piryaavidai(Formal Sendoff for him) Again Porvai, Malai, Srisadagopam for him and Sri Parthasarathy perumal formaly sends him with all srivaishnavas and other devotees to his temple at Mylapore. For that Peyalwar again goes to vahana mandapam and again goes back to the Muthu Pallakku in which he came to triplicane.

    I came across this blog, just by sheer coincidence, being a thiruvallikeni vasi, seeing the name sri parthasarathy swamy temple, couldn't resist to take a look. gone thro thoroughly, u're doing a very good job. Especially peyalwar mangalasasanam. Will visit often to know more.
